Carlos Perez showed that JP Arencibia is not the only catcher with some power, Perez doubled and tripled and drove in four runs to pace the only win on the farm.  All the teams above Auburn lost, some badly.  There were some scattered good performances but it has been a sad week on the farm with most teams seeming to hit the skids at the same time.  It's either the dog days or opposite time where the affiliates play badly when the Jays play well.

Nashville 10  Las Vegas 5

Nashville liked facing Luis Perez who only went four inning, the 51's were down 7-0 when he was pulled from the game.

Two doubles in each of the fourth and fifth innings keyed the five runs for Vegas.  Mike Jacobs continued his hot hitting ways, he was 3-4.  Brad Emaus, Jason Lane and Aaron Mathews had two hits each, including a double.

Bowie 9  New Hampshire 5

This was Zach Stewart's day to pitch but he was skipped to limit his innings.  BJ LaMura made the spot start and pitched very well, five innings, one run allowed.  Vince Bongiovanni followed LaMura and the wheels came off, Bongiovanni gave up a five spot in the sixth and the Cats trailed 6-3.  Concepcion Rodriguez drove in a pair in the bottom of the sixth but Ronald Uviedo gave up three runs in the ninth to end New Hampshire's hopes.

The Fisher Cats had scored three runs in the first inning, Darin Mastroianni and Adeiny Hechavarria singled; Eric Thames doubled; Shawn Bowman singled; and Adam Loewen grounded out to score the third run.

Hechavarria, Bowman and Rodriguez had two hits each.

Brevard County 4  Dunedin 3 - 1st game

Scott Richmond started and pitched two shutout innings.  Frank Gailey pitched six inning and only gave up an unearned run.  Dunedin came to the bottom of the seventh trailing 1-0 and they had only three hits.  Brian Van Kirk homered to tie the game and send it to extra innings.

Dumas Garcia came on for the ninth and gave up three runs before getting an out.  In the bottom of the ninth, after two quick outs, Dunedin loaded the bases.  Yan Gomes doubled and a walk and hit batter filled the bags.  Welinton Ramirez singled in two runs but the rally ended there.  Justin McClanahan was the only Jay with two hits.

Brevard County 4  Dunedin 0 - 2nd game

Dunedin had only two hits after losing game 1.

Chad Beck started and pitched well, he has tabbed for just one run.  Bobby Bell, who has been demoted to Dunedin, gave up two runs on five hits in relief.

Lansing 0  Great Lakes 11

It's hard to win when you have just three hits, Kevin Ahrens had two of them.  Justin Jackson had the other hit.

Ryan Tepera gave up nine runs in three innings.

Lowell 1  Auburn 9

The one bright spot in this mlu was anchored by Casey Lawrence who pitched five shutout innings.  The only run scored by Lowell came in the ninth.

Offensively Auburn scored twice in the first inning, Carlos Perez tripled in a run and scored on a ground out.  Auburn added two more in the fourth, Andy Fermin singled, Oliver Dominguez doubled and Stephen McQuail doubled.  Gustavo Pierre singled and scored in the fifth, and added a bases loaded walk in the sixth.  That was followed by a bases clearing double by Perez to make it a 9-0 game.

Perez was 2-5 with 4 RBI's.  Fermin and McQuail had two hits each.
