The POTD shines the spotlight on the Mississauga native's first win in a Toronto uniform.

Shawn Hill takes to the bullpen mound prior to his September 23 start against Seattle at the Dome.

Hill was making his third start of the season and his second at home.

Hill was 0-2 but posted a respectable 4.09 earned run average.

Hill lasted 5 1/3 innings against Texas in his home debut September 9 and suffered the loss in a 4-2 setback against the Rangers.

The former Montreal Expo deserved a better fate as a Travis Snider error in left field led to an unearned run and lefty Jesse Carlson allowed a two-run double that counted against Hill's ledger.

Hill's second loss came against Baltimore September 14.  He lasted six innings and gave up three runs (two earned) but the O's pounded Toronto 11-3 at Camden Yards.

The 6-foot-2, 225 pound righty unleashes a two-seam fastball.

Hill struck out five of his first six hitters he faced, allowing only an Adam Moore infield single to short in the first two innings.

Hill gave up just four hits and a walk, including two hits to Ichiro Suzuki, who reached the 200 hit plateau for a 10th consecutive season.

Hill throws a changeup to keep the Mariners off-balance.  He lasted five innings and struck out seven.  With help from lefties Brad Mills and Scott Downs and righties Jason Frasor and Kevin Gregg, Hill earned the victory as the Jays blanked Seattle 1-0.

Hill's fourth and final start came in Minnesota in the Jays final series of 2010.  Even though the Jays hammered the Twins 13-2, Hill was one out short of qualifying for the victory.  The 29 year-old gave up just one run in 4 2/3 innings but had thrown 93 pitches when he was sent to the showers.  A two-time survivor of Tommy John surgery, Hill hopes to join former Jays catcher John Buck with the Florida Marlins after recently signing a minor league deal.  He wasn't here for a long time but at least there was one good time along the way!
