My buddy Eddie Michels in Dunedin, who reports for a number of news services, says that Outfielder Scott Podsednik is recovering from his bout with Plantar Facialis, a painful foot malady.

In February, Podsednik signed a minor league contract with the Jays. Yesterday, he played his first game since March 13th at extended spring training in Dunedin.  He went 2 for 4 with a homer and two runs scored against the Yankees.

A multi year and multi team veteran of the bigs, the .279 lifetime hitter in the majors was quoted by Michaels as saying “My foot feels good. The training staff has done a really good job of putting the rehab plan together and things are going well.”

Podsednik also said he will mostly be in extended spring training for another week or so. “I am going to get plenty of at bats and get my timing down.  Then I think I will head off to Las Vegas and get some at bats there," Podsednik added.

Podsednik played for the Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Dodgers last season. He ended up batting .297, had a .342 on-base percentage and stole 35 bases in 134 games.
