Drew Hutchison continues to work his way up Toronto’s prospect lists, while Asher Wojciechowski continues to experience some struggles during his first professional season.

New Hampshire 3 @ Trenton 4 (10 innings) – Boxscore
You hate to say that the Fisher Cats deserved to lose this game, but after going 3-for-19 with runners in scoring position, it’s hard to reach any other conclusion. Rey Gonzalez started for the Fisher Cats and went 7 strong innings. He allowed three runs on six hits and a walk, striking out four. After eleven starts, Gonzalez’s ERA now sits at 2.56 for the year. Ron Uviedo pitched 2 scoreless innings to bring the game into extras. Frank Gailey came in for the tenth and retired the first batter he faced. The next batter reached on an error by Adeiny Hechevarria. Gailey walked a batter and then the runners executed a double steal. Gailey intentionally walked a batter to set up the force at any base, but a single to right ended the game.
Darin Mastroianni was the only New Hampshire batter to have a multi-hit game with a single and a double. He reached base four times and Mark Sobolewski was the only other hitter to reach base more than once. Anthony Gose, Mike McDade and Moises Sierra each had a single, with Sierra scoring and Gose adding an RBI. Yan Gomes had a single and an RBI, while Sobolewski had a single, RBI and a walk. Hechevarria, Ricardo Nanita and Calix Crabbe were held hitless.
Dunedin 5 @ Clearwater 11 – Boxscore
The score probably makes this game seem closer than it was. Dunedin had four hits, but scraped together five runs, while Clearwater had 13 hits. A.J. Jimenez, Bradley Glen, Sean Ochinko and Ivan Contreras each had a hit. Glenn had a two-run homer in the first and Ochinko added a solo shot in the ninth. Ochinko scored twice and drew a walk and Glenn worked two walks. Justin Jackson, Kenny Wilson and Kevin Ahrens each also worked a free pass, while Brad McElroy and Jon Talley were held hitless.
Dunedin actually led the game 4-0 after two innings, but everything caved in during the fifth inning. Asher Wojciechowski pitched 4 innings and didn’t allow a run, but he allowed three hits, a walk, another hit and, after retiring two batters, allowed two more hits and was pulled from the game. Scott Gracey came in and allowed two inherited runners to score, one on a Justin Jackson error. Wojciechowski allowed 9 hits and three walks, striking out two. He allowed eight runs, five earned. Scott Gracey allowed two runs over 1.1 innings on a pair of hits and two walks. Anton Loup allowed another run over 1.1 innings, before Ryan Shropshire threw 1 scoreless frame.
Burlington 0 @ Lansing 6 – Boxscore
Drew Hutchison started for Lansing and continued to demonstrate why he’s a popular sleeper prospect in the system. Hutchison went 6 innings and struck out nine. He didn’t walk a batter and allowed two hits. Hutchison induced four grounders and one fly out. Dayton Martze came in for the 3 inning save and earned it. He struck out three, walked one and allowed 2 hits.
The Lugnuts attack was led by two three-hit performances. Marcus Knecht went 3-for-4 with three runs and a double and Bryson Namba also added three hits and 2 RBI. Jake Marisnick and Michael Crouse each added a single and the latter also drew a walk and scored a run. K.C. Hobson and Jack Murphy added two singles and Hobson added a run and a walk. Gustavo Pierre, Marcus Brisker and Oscar Dominguez were held hitless, with Pierre striking out three times.
