Today's POTD looks at the opening game of a five-game series between the Vancouver Canadians and the Boise Hawks. It was Boise's first game at Nat Bailey Stadium since the C's epic Game 1 come-from-behind victory in last year's Northwest League final.

Roving catching instructor and former Blue Jay Sal Fasano was in town to tutor the Canadians catchers.

Catcher and Peterborough, Ontario native Michael Reeves takes a moment to reflect in the outfield.

Thunder Bay, Ontario's Eric Brown throws in the bullpen under the watchful eye of Fasano. Brown would throw five innings, with a two-run home run in the first being his only blemish.

In a meeting of major league offspring, Dickie Thon Jr. forces out Shawon Dunston Jr. at second base on a 3-6 fielder's choice.

Ian Parmley uses his speed to beat out a tapper to the mound in the second inning to keep a two-out rally alive.

Parmley would slide home with the tying run on a single by Thon Jr. that also scored Reeves to tie the game at 2-2.

Reeves gets ready to tag up and score in the third inning after a Parmley sacrifice fly to make it 4-2 Canadians.

L.B. Dantzler redeemed himself with a single to lead off the eighth inning. Dantzler had struck out his first four times up at the dish. Perhaps hearing Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" at his walk-up music did not help matters and has since been discontinued.

Who has a thumb and scored the go-ahead run? This guy! David Harris pinch-ran for Dantzler and scampered home on a Reeves sac fly in the bottom of the eighth to make it 6-5 for the C's. That was after the Hawks had scored three times in the top of the eighth to tie things up.

Garrett Pickens was unable to strand the bases loaded for lefty Bobby Brosnahan in the eighth, with a throwing error by Thon Jr. leading to the tying run. PIckens came back out for the ninth and walked the leadoff hitter. However, he stranded the runner at third with a game-ending strikeout and heads toward Reeves to celebrate a 6-5 win.
