Buffalo scored seven runs in the sixth inning to turn a close game into an easy win. The bats were pounding and Chris Leroux had a good start. New Hampshire lost to an eighth inning home run. Dunedin had an easy win to close out their first half of the season. Jonathan Davis drove in a couple of runs and ends the first half as the best hitter in Dunedin. Lansing are on their all-star break. Vancouver lost behind a shaky Justin Maese. Two former Jays pitched against the affiliates on Wednesday, Myles Jaye and Jake Brentz.

Louisville 1 Buffalo 8

Buffalo scored seven runs in the sixth inning. The Bisons loaded the bases on walks and that opened the floodgates. Jesus Montero singled in two runs as did Andy Burns. Melky Mesa singled in the fifth run and finally Tony Sanchez doubled in two more. Montero singled in the eighth run in the seventh inning. Mesa, Montero and Junior Lake had two hits.

Chris Leroux pitched six innings and the only run off him was unearned. Danny Barnes, in his AAA debut, got six up and six down. Dustin Antolin registered the save.

New Hampshire 1 Erie 2

Erie's Connor Harrell hit a home run off Murphy Smith in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 1-1 tie. It was the only hit Smith allowed in his three innings of work and it also raised his ERA to 1.10. New Hampshire were held to just three hits themselves. A Dwight Smith home run accounted for their only score. The Fisher Cats were facing Myles Jaye, former Jays draft pick and farm hand who went seven innings. Jaye has a 3.97 ERA in AA. Paul Voelker took time off from fixing the worlds economy to pick up the win.

Shane Dawson started and went five innings, throwing 92 pitches. Erie had four hits and three walks in those five innings. Dawson through 48 strikes and 44 balls, not the level of efficiency he would like. He also had five K's. Dawson and Smith were the only pitchers.

Brevard County 1 Dunedin 5

Dunedin finished their first half with a handy win and a return from Anthony Alford who was 0-3 with a walk and no K's. Dunedin scored three in the third inning and two in the fourth. In the third, Jonathan Davis doubled in Aaron Attaway. Ryan McBroom then doubled in Davis and Emilio Guerrero. Attaway and Davis were in the middle of the scoring in the fourth too. Michael De La Cruz singled and Attaway doubled. Davis then brought in the fourth run with a sac fly. Richard Urena singled home Attaway for run number five. Davis ends the first half as Dunedin's best hitter. Urena looks to be improving too. In 2015 Urena had 110 K's and 16 walks. This year, in about half the at-bats, he has 39 K's and 14 walks, that's progress.

Chris Rowley started for the Jays and went five innings. He had a nice 5 4 1 1 0 6 line and was pulled after 65 pitches. Five relievers cruised through the last four innings.

Lansing - All Star Break

Everett 6 Vancouver 4

Justin Maese had problems retiring the first hitter on Wednesday. The first hitter of the game singled, moved to third on a Biggio error, and scored on a sac fly. A double led off the second inning and later scored on a ground ball. A walk started the fourth but three ground balls stopped the runner from scoring. A third run scored in the third inning with a single, double combination. A lead off single in the fifth opened the gates to three runs, although an error made the runs unearned. Maese gave up six runs in six innings although only two were earned. The eight hits he allowed, as well as his first hitter issues, will be a focus for the his next start. Gabe Noyalis pitched another shutout inning. Noyalis is in his first pro season at age 24. Noyalis hadn't played organized baseball since 2012 before signing for the Jays after a private try-out.

Yeltsin Gudino took centre stage for the offense. In the first inning he was hit by a pitch and JB Woodman walked. Jacob Anderson doubled in both runs. In the fourth Gudino and Woodman singled in runs. Gudino's line was 2-3 with a double, a walk and a HBP. Bryan Lizardo and Anderson also had two hits.
