Lansing won while Buffalo and Dunedin lost. New Hampshire had the day off. The Lugnuts scored 11 runs in the seventh inning en route to an easy win. The bullpen took the loss in both the Buffalo and Dunedin games. Among prospects Teoscar Hernandez and Logan Warmoth homered but it was Chavez Young who took the first star.

The Bisons played their home opener although it was interrupted by rain at one point. It was a tight game with the Bisons coming up short by 2-1. Chad Girodo took the loss allowing both runs. Teoscar Hernandez homered for the Bisons run.

Sam Gaviglio started and pitched 4.1 shutout innings. Both Luis Santos and Carlos Ramirez pitched well in relief. After Buffalo's delayed start the pitchers are getting some work and are ready in case the Jays call for them. Reese McGuire, Jason Leblebijian and Teoscar each had two hits. Rowdy Tellez and Roemen Fields are off to slow starts. Fields, like Deck McGuire and Jonathan Davis, are examples of players who had strong springs but whose bats are now cold.

Patrick Murphy was hit around somewhat in his start for Dunedin but did not get the loss. He allowed three runs on seven hits over five innings. Murphy might have had BABIP problems. Seven of his outs were by ground balls with no fly balls and four of the seven hits were ground ball hits.

Logan Warmoth hit his first home run of the season, a two run shot. Riley Adams, Brad Jones and Nash Knight had two hits each.

Lansing used an eleven run seventh inning to cruise to the win. The final score was 13-4. They only had five hits in that inning but were helped by seven walks. Chavez Young had a double and a triple in that inning. Kevin Vicuna also tripled. Overall the Lugnuts had 11 hits. Young and Vicuna had two each. So did Christian Williams and Matt Morgan. Cullen Large reached all five times, two hits and three walks.

Zach Logue started and, like Murphy for Dunedin, was hit around a bit. In 5.2 innings he allowed nine hits and two walks. That led to three of the four runs conceded by Lansing.
