Donnie Baseball Dominates West Michigan

The #BlueJays affiliates posted a 3-5 record on Monday with two of the victories resulting in shutouts.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 6 Buffalo 2

Chris Rowley was roughed up for five runs over five innings on seven hits and three walks while whiffing three. Conor Fisk pitched two scoreless frames and Justin Shafer added another. Craig Breslow gave up a home run and struck out a batter in his one inning of work.

Reese McGuire had two hits while Dwight Smith Jr., Tim Lopes and Roemon Fields had the other base knocks with Smith knocking in a run. Anthony Alford walked once in four at-bats. Richard Urena was 0-for-4.

Trenton 8 New Hampshire 6

Thomas Pannone gave up four hits and four walks but allowed just two runs in five innings while striking out seven. Dusty Isaacs gave up two runs in the sixth to take the loss. Danny Young was vicitimized for four unearned runs. Zach Jackson pitched a scoreless eighth.

Juan Kelly had a three-run home run and Connor Panas had two hits and a run batted in. Gunnar Heidt singled and walked. Bo Bichette was 1-for-5 and Cavan Biggio walked twice.

Tampa 6 Dunedin 2

Angel Perdomo was punked for five runs over 4-2/3 innings. He allowed six hit, two walks and hit a batter but struck out five. Jonathan Cheshire gave up a run in 2-1/3 innings but struck out five. William Ouellette surrendered an unearned run over two innings.

Ivan Castillo was 2-for-4 with a home run and Yeltsin Gudino had two hits. Santiago Espinal, Kacy Clemens, Rodrigo Orozco and Alberto Mineo also had base hits with Mineo getting a double. Kevin Smith donned a golden sombrero.

Lansing 4 West Michigan 0

Samad Taylor, Chavez Young, Ryan Gold and Freddy Rodriguez all had two hits to lead the Lugnuts to victory. Taylor and Young also stole a base. Norberto Obeso added a double and three RBI.

Donnie Sellers surrendered just three hits and a walk over five scoreless frames. He plunked a couple of hitters but struck out four. Brody Rodning and Kyle Weatherly got the hold and save respectively with two shutout frames apiece.

Vancouver 5 Salem-Keizer 0

Brett Wright homered to break a 0-0 tie in the fifth and Chris Bec blasted a two-run homer to cap off a five-run rally. Justin Watts earned the win with three innings or relief. You can read more details right here.

Bluefield 6 Burlington 2

The Bluef-Jays improved to 11-2 by rallying from a 2-0 deficit. Dominic Abbadessa and Alejandro Kirk had two hits and two RBI. Cal Stevenson and Andy McGuire had a hit and two walks.

Alvaro Galindo gave up two runs on four hits and a plunk while striking out six with no walks over five frames. Fitz Stadler also rung up six over three innings of one-hit ball for the win. Brad Wilson struck out one in a scoreless ninth.

GCL Tigers West 11 GCL Blue Jays 3

Yhordegny Kelly was 2-for-4 with a three-run home run. Troy Squires had a single and a walk. Jordan Groshans was 1-for-4.

Alejandro Melean was mauled for five runs (three earned) over three innings to take the loss.

DSL White Sox 3 DSL Blue Jays 2

The White Sox scored in the eighth and ninth to walk this one off. Jose Rivas doubled and stole two bases. Geyber Jimenez had two hits while Miguel Hiraldo went 1-for-4.

Santos Moreno allowed just one unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out six over five frames. Jeison Contreras took the loss.
