Two walkoffs and two shutout victories highlight a nearly perfect Monday night on the farm as the #BlueJays affiliates won five out of six.

Dunedin 7 Clearwater 0

Kevin Smith homered in the first to give Dunedin all the offence they would need but they added six more anyway in the third just to make sure. Riley Adams hit a grand slam to join Smith, Brock Lundquist and Ivan Castillo in the two-hit club. Rodrigo Orozco was the hit leader with three and also a stole a base.

Maverik Buffo's Florida State League debut could take your breath away. He scattered three hits and a walk over eight shutout innings. He had five strikeouts and seven groundball outs. Jake Fishman finished things up in the ninth.


South Bend 5 Lansing 3

Samad Taylor had a home run and a double and Reilly Johnson drove in the other two runs with a single. Jesus Navarro added a double. Ryan Noda got the golden sombrero.

Graham Spraker surrendered three runs in 3-2/3 innings on five hits but his strikeout-walk total was 3-0. Brody Rodning pitched 2-1/3 shutout frames and stranded a runner. Dany Jimenez gave up two in the eighth to take the loss in his three-inning stint.


Vancouver 3 Spokane 0 (6 Innings - Final)

The C's managed to squeeze in the win between the raindrops. Christopher Bec hit a two-run homer that managed to stay fair down the left field line in the fifth. Bec's homer scored a Bryan Lizardo walk after a nine-pitch at bat. Griffin Conine had a fielder's choice RBI in the sixth to score a Vinny Capra free pass.

Jose Espada gave up just one hit and one walk over five innings and struck out eight. Jose Nunez worked a clean sixth for the save. More details on the game right here.


Bluefield 7 Kingsport 5 (10 Innings)

A bases-load walk by Cal Stevenson walked it off for the Bluef-Jays after trailing 6-1 at one point. They also needed a four-run ninth to force the game into the extra frame. Andres Guerra hit a two-run homer and Alejandro Kirk had a two-run single. Guerra, Dominic Abbadessa and Luis De Los Santos had two hits apiece.

Eric Pardinho hit his first bump in the road by giving up four runs on five hits over 4-1/3 innings but he struck out seven and walked only one. Sean Rackoski got the win by getting the final two outs in the tenth to strand a pair of runners.


GCL Blue Jays 6 GCL Phillies West 5

Leonardo JImenez walked this one off with a single to score pinch-runner Steward Berroa. Dalton Pompey had two hits, a walk, a stolen base and a run batted in. Others with two-hit games were Addison Barger, Hector Guerrero and Gabriel Moreno. Barger drew a walk while Moreno drove in two. Jordan Groshans was 0-for-3 with a base on balls.

Emanuel Vizcaino was eviscerated for five runs over 3-2/3 innings. The trio of  Ryan Thurston (2.1IP), Anderson Nunez (2.0IP) and Jackson Rees (1.0IP) pitched shutout relief with Rees getting the victory.


DSL Blue Jays 4 DSL Reds 1

The Jays scored twice in the third and fourth innings to win this one. Jhon Solarte doubled home a run and Hanley Acevedo doubled home two. Acevedo and Pedro Hurtado had two-hit days. Miguel Hiraldo was 1-for-4.

Alexis Carmona made it through five innings to get the win as he gave up a run on four hits and a walk while whiffing four. Pedro Padilla walked two but whiffed two over two scoreless innings while William Gonzalez struck out three of the six men he faced for the two-inning save.
