Bombs Away For Buffalo

Just two wins in eight tries for the #BlueJays affiliates Tuesday.

Buffalo 14 Charlotte 5

The ball was flying in North Carolina as eight baseballs cleared the wall, six of them by Buffalo. Rowdy Tellez homered twice while Dwight Smith Jr. and Darnell Sweeney went deep to highlight their three-hit performances. Reese McGuire and Billy McKinney also went deep. Anthony Alford had a couple of doubles. Tim Lopes had two hits and a stolen base. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 1-for-5 with a walk.

Mike Hauschild, whose name can be sung to the Guns & Roses tune 'Hauschild Is Mine', hit enough right notes to last five innings as he surrendered two runs to get the win. He served up a home run among his six hits and walked one but he struck out two and collected nine outs on the ground. Taylor Guerreri gave up a solo shot in two innings and Claudio Custodio coughed up two runs over the final two frames.

Altoona 5 New Hampshire 0

Jordan Romano took the loss but had a quality start of three earned runs over six innings, giving up four runs in total on eight hits and a walk. He struck out three and got nine outs on the dirt. Corey Copping struck out the side in the seventh but Josh DeGraaf was dinged for a run over the final two frames.

Gunnar Heidt was 3-for-4 while Harold Ramirez and Max Pentecost picked up two hits apiece. Forrest Wall singled, walked and stole a base. Bo Bichette was 1-for-5.

Jupiter 5 Dunedin 4 (10 Innings)

Josh Palacios enjoyed the only two-hit game for Dunedin as he belted a two-run home run and drove in three overall. Brock Lundquist and Logan Warmoth doubled witih Warmoth getting the other RBI. Chad Spanberger walked twice.

Yennsy Diaz was jolted for a two-run home run and gave up three overall in seven innings of work. He scattered seven hits but did not walk anyone and he struck out four. Jonathan Cheshire struck out in a shutout eighth but Jackson McClelland coughed up two unearned runs in the tenth after a scoreless ninth to take the loss.

Lansing 7 Bowling Green 4

Samad Taylor swatted a two-run home run in the third before RBI base hits by Chavez Young and Vinny Capra sandwiched a two-run knock by Brandon Grudzielanek to highlight a five-run fifth. Taylor and Grudzielanek had two hits apiece. Young stole his 32nd and 33rd bases of the year.

Jordan Barrett was one out short of five innings as he yielded three runs on five hits with a strikeout/walk ratio of 4-4. Brody Rodning stranded one of two Barrett runners and got the win. He gave up a solo home run among two hits but struck out two over his 2-1/3 inning stint. Emerson Jimenez walked one and whiffed two over two shutout innings for the save.

Tri-City 4 Vancouver 1

The Dust Devils snapped a 1-1 tie with three unearned runs in the eighth off Denis Diaz. That spoiled an excellent start by Elio Silva who surrendered a solo home run and a walk over six innings. Connor Law struck out three over 1-1/3 innings.

Otto Lopez tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Tanner Kirwer in the third to give the C's a brief 1-0 lead. Lopez had two hits. More deets right here.

Kingsport 10 Bluefield 4

The Bluef-Jays scored the first four runs over the first two frames but the Mets scored 10 unanswered to put this one away. Felipe Castaneda was rocked for six runs over 2-2/3 innings on three hits and four walks. He gave up a home run and had just one strikeout. Joel Espinal was whacked for three more runs in 3-1/3 innings. Brennan Price had an unearned run on his ledger. Mike Pascoe pitched a scoreless eighth.

Dominic Abbadessa had two hits and a stolen base. Cal Stevenson singled, walked and drove in a run. Gabriel Moreno was 1-for-4. Hagen Danner was 0-for-3 with a walk.

GCL Pirates 3 GCL Blue Jays 2

The Bucs got a run in the eighth and one in the ninth to walk this off. Brayan Mejia took the loss after blowing the save with two runs allowed in 1-2/3 innings. Juan Diaz held the Pirates to a run on four hits and a walk and struck out three. He also got eight outs on the ground. Elixon Caballero got around two hits and a walk to put together two scoreless frames in which he struck out a pair.

Jordan Groshans had two of the five hits for the Jays. Joseph Reyes singled, walked twice and drove in a run. Adrian Ramos had a base on balls and a base stolen, his 21st of the season.

DSL Reds 9 DSL Blue Jays 8 (12 Innings)

The Jays wound up losing this one in 12 innings after rain stopped the game yesterday with one out and two on the bottom of the 11th for the Reds. Jose Brito was charged with the tying run and William Gonzalez suffered the loss after allowing the winning run in 1-1/3 innings in which he walked two and struck out.

Hanley Acevedo homered in a losing cause.

DSL Blue Jays 8 DSL Reds 1 (4 Innings - Suspended)

Mother Nature cut this one short after the Jays scored in three of their four at-bats. Pedro Hurtado was 3-for-3 and Erickvi Celedonio picked up two hits and two stolen bases. Jhon Solarte was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and his 25th stolen base of the year.

Adrian Hernandez allowed one run on three hits and two walks and struck out five in four innings.
