One ninth-inning rally worked, another did not as the Blue Jays affiliates split their two games Monday. Buffalo and New Hampshire had the night off. #LetsGoBlueJays

The D-Jays did not get on the board until the seventh when Samad Taylor scampered home on a passed ball after reaching base with a double. Norberto Obeso drew Dunedin closer with an RBI single in the ninth before Alejandro Kirk cleared the bases with a three-run double. Kirk and Obeso had two hits apiece but the hit leader with Ryan Noda with three. Kevin Vicuna and Cullen Large also recorded base hits. Christian Williams was 0-for-5, Demi Orimoloye was 0-for-4 and Hunter Steinmetz was 0-for-3 but scored a run.
Justin Dillon put together a decent outing, giving up two runs on four hits over 5-2/3 innings. He struck out four and got a half-dozen outs on the ground. Kyle Weatherly was tagged for a run over 1-1/3 innings. William Ouellette got the win with two scoreless frames with three strikeouts. His only blemish was a hit by pitch.
Quad Cities 4 Lansing 2
The Lugnuts had just three hits in this one. Otto Lopez and Rafael Lantigua singled while McGregory Contreras doubled home a Tanner Kirwer walk in the eighth but was thrown out at third. Nick Podkul scored the other run in the ninth with a sacrifice fly to plate a Reggie Pruitt free pass. Podkul drew two walks to extend his on-base streak to 16 games and stole a base along with Kirwer. Jake Brodt and D.J. Neal struck out three times and Hagen Danner went down on strikes twice.
Cobi Johnson gave up a first inning run and battled his control by walking four but allowed just three hits while striking out five over five frames. Fitz Stadler surrendered the other three runs over three innings but struck out three against three hits and two walks.
