Danner Lays Boots To Lake County

The #BlueJays affiliates lost both of their games Monday. Buffalo and New Hampshire had the night off. Dunedin was rained out. #BlueJays #LetsGoBlueJays

Troy Watson was torched for seven runs (six earned) over two innings against the Cleveland affiliate on five hits and three walks, including a three-run homer. Josh Hiatt didn't have it either, giving up two more runs on two hits, three walks and three plunks, striking out a pair. Mike Pascoe pitched a shutout seventh but permitted a run in the eighth with two hits, a walk and two walks on his line. Sean Rackoski pitched a clean ninth.
 
D.J. Neal and Hagen Danner had RBI singles and Luis De Los Santos tripled home Danner for a three-run second inning. Danner - the Midwest League Player of the Week - then hit a round-tripper in the seventh. Reggie Pruitt, Ryan Gold and Nick Podkul also had two-hit nights with Podkul stealing a base. D.J. Neal had a hit and two swipes and Rafael Lantigua walked. Gabriel Moreno was 0-for-3 at the plate but 2-for-3 in throwing out basestealers. He also had a passed ball. Griffin Conine was 0-for-4.

The D-Backs recent dominance over the Jays also reached into this back-and-forth matchup. The Jays led 4-2, fell behind 5-4 in the eighth and tied it in the ninth only to be walked off. Daniel Oliva had three hits while Gabriel Martinez, Willfrann Astudillo and Emmanuel Sanchez had two apiece with Sanchez stealing a base. Amell Brazoban, Leonal Callez and Adrian Montero also had base hits.

Bejardi Meza gave up two runs over four innings and Edgar Castro coughed up three runs in 3-1/3 innings. Jose Quintana allowed an unearned run over one inning to take the loss.
