2020 Week Four, Home Sweet Home

The Jays are (back) home for this week, their first home stand of 2020. Two games against the Marlins, another off-day, and three against the Rays make up the week.

So the Jays offense has been missing in action so far this season. Will some good Buffalo wings help get the bats going? Here is a question, the answer to which surprised me, so major props to you if you know the answer. Which Blue Jay is second in OPS? Teoscar is top of the list, he has been the one offensive standout so far. Bo is third, bit of a slow start but he always seem to find a way. Between those two (drum roll) is Derek Fisher who is hitting .250 with a double, a triple and three walks. Unfortunately he is on the IL.

Randall Grichuk is still looking for his first extra base hit. Brandon Drury's OPS is .232. Between Drury, Panik and Alford, the Jays three worst offensive players, Atkins hanging on to marginal guys hoping they will come good isn't looking too smart. The catchers are disappointing, particularly Danny Jansen. I thought he would hit better. Travis Shaw hasn't started to hit yet either. Lets just say, there are lots of places where the Jays hitting could get better.

The Marlins have a patched together post COVID squad. Ryu and Pearson will look to have the Jays sweep the two game series.

The Jays look to have done a good job getting the field in Buffalo ready for major league baseball. Let's hope it pays off with some wins.
