The Thundering Herd from Buffalo/Trenton were the only winners on the night. New Hampshire's game in Portland was rained out. #WeAreBlueJays

Buffalo 5 Worcester 2

The Thundering Bisons are off to a 2-0 start after another win over the Woo Sox. Nick Allgeyer submitted his name for consideration to be called up with six strong innings in which he yielded only a solo homer to Chris Hermann and one other hit. The lefty's K/BB and GO/FO ratios were 6-2. Dany Jimenez and Jackson Rees pitched scoreless frames before Hobie Harris served up a solo tater in the ninth.

Breyvic Valera, Logan Warmoth and Kevin Smith all went deep for the Herd with Warmoth and Smith smacking two-run bombs. Warmoth also made a nice sliding catch in left field to save a run and end the eighth inning for Rees. Valera drew a walk to reach base twice. Rowdy Tellez doubled and drew a free pass while Cullen Large also collected an extra-base hit.

Tri-City 11 Vancouver 6

Sean Wymer was whacked for seven runs and finished an out shy of two-innings. A three-run homer by Angels 2018 first-round pick Jordyn Adams sent Wymer to the showers. Justin Maese worked a scoreless inning of relief in his first appearance in a Vancouver uniform in five years. Marcus Reyes was nicked for an unearned run but struck out four over three innings.

It took 12-plus innings for the C's to pick up their first runs of the season and it came on the team's first extra-base hit on a bases-clearing double by Luis De Los Santos, who would finish with a 2-for-3 night along with a walk. Tanner Kirwer had two hits and stole a base. Cameron Eden drove in a pair and reached base twice with a double and a hit by pitch. Tanner Morris walked twice and swiped a bag.

Tampa Bay 19 Dunedin 9

The D-Jays were up 7-0 and 8-5 before the Yankees affiliate erupted for 19 of the next 21 runs. Yosver Zulueta threw only three pitches before leaving due to injury. Willy Gaston took over and lasted 3-2/3 innings, giving up a solo homer plus four unearned runs on an error by right field MacKenzie Mueller. Gabriel Ponce was pounded for nine runs in 1-1/3 innings to take the loss and the blown save. 6-foot-9 Thomas Ruwe—a free-agent signee last winter from Missouri Western State— allowed three Ponce runners to score and gave up three of his own in one-third of an inning. Roither Hernandez allowed an inherited runner to score but struck out four over 1-2/3 innings. Infielder Davis Schneider pitched the final inning and he was slapped around for three runs.

Jhon Solarte went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in. Eric Rivera walked three times and stole two bases while Harrison Ray had a pair of walks and steals. Miguel Hiraldo singled in four at-bats and drove in a pair but committed an error at second. Orelvis Martinez was 1-for-4 with a miscue at short.
