He is no Otto Velez, yet, but Otto Lopez went 4-4 on Friday, scoring three runs. All the runs by Otto came off the Somerset pitcher, Glenn Otto. It was some Otto on Otto violence. The Fisher Cats won that game. The Canadians won too with Canada's own Tanner Kirwer hitting a grand slam. The Bisons also won while Dunedin, this years lovable losers, lost despite home runs from Miguel Hiraldo and Orelvis Martinez.

Rochester 2 Buffalo 5

Somerset 3 New Hampshire 7

Spokane 2 Vancouver 8

Bradenton 8 Dunedin 4

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

The Bisons scored five runs on six hits and six walks. The big blow was a three run home run by Christian Colon. And it came on his 32nd birthday. Forrest Wall had a triple.

Jacob Waguespack had a decent start, 6.1 innings, two runs allowed on four hits.

The starting pitcher for Rochester was ex-Jay Sean Nolin. Nolin took the loss and has a 5.23 ERA.

As mentioned in the introduction Otto Lopez was 4-4 with two doubles and three runs scored. His batting average is up to .349. He still has a ways to go to catch Gabriel Moreno who went 2-4 to keep his BA at .500. Jordan Groshans had two hits, one a double. Austin Martin had one hit.

Maximo Castillo pitched five innings, one run allowed on five hits with four K's. He was followed by Brady Rodning who threw three innings. Rodning has now thrown nine innings in four appearances with a zero ERA, recording 11 K's. His WHIP allowed is 0.78. The 25 year old is a lefty thrower.

Tanner Kirwer was 3-4 with three runs scored and four RBI. He hit a grand slam in the eighth inning. Luis De Los Santos, Tanner Morris and Phil Clarke had two hits each.

Nick Fraze had an excellent start, six innings, two runs on four hits with six K's. Hagen Danner got the save with a perfect ninth.

Three pitchers gave up eight runs on seven hits and six walks. Winder Garcia started and gave up four runs thanks in part to two home runs. Nine of the ten outs by Adrian Hernandez came via the strikeout. But he walked four and conceded four runs.

Miguel Hiraldo and Orelvis Martinez each homered. Hiraldo also added a double.

Three Stars

Third Star - Christian Colon

Second Star - Tanner Kirwer

First Star - Otto Lopez
