Toronto at Boston, Apr 19-21

The Red Sox have returned most of the lineup that (somehow) won 92 games last season. That team was basically pretty solid, top to bottom, and an epidemic of good health meant that they were able to lean on their regulars, all but one of whom played at least 130 games. They traded last year's RF, Hunter Renfroe, to Milwaukee in order to bring back Jackie Bradley after his disastrous sojourn in the NL. Bradley's been a below average hitter for most of the last five years who has earned his keep with his defense in CF. This season the Sox have him playing in right field. Also out of position is their expensive new free agent, Trevor Story, spending the year at second base while Xander Bogaerts plays his last season before hitting the free agent market.

Eduardo Rodriguez (to Detroit), Garrett Richards, and Martin Perez (both to Texas) all moved on in free agency. The Red Sox have replaced them in the rotation with Michael Wacha and Rich Hill, although the Jays won't see either on this trip. Last year, at the rather ripe age of 41, Hill made his most starts and pitched his most innings in a season since 2007.
