After Yosver Zulueta racked up ten strikeouts yesterday, Ricky Tiedemann joined the ten K club on Friday. Despite the K's he gave up two runs and Dunedin lost. Paxton Schultz picked up eight K's and Orelvis Martinez and Spencer Horwitz homered. Buffalo went to extra innings and won thanks to Gabriel Moreno's third hit of the night. It's the rainy season out west and Vancouver got another night off.

Buffalo 3 Lehigh Valley 2 - 10 innings

Binghamton 3 New Hampshire 7

Vancouver at Eugene - postponed

Tampa 3 Dunedin 2

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

The Bisons bats were quiet until the eighth inning when four back to back singles with two outs led to two runs and a tied game. Nathan Lukes, Gabriel Moreno, Cullen Large and Jordan Groshans had the hits. In the tenth inning Moreno singled in the ghost runner, his third hit of the night.

Shaun Anderson started and went five innings, two runs on three hits, one a home run. Jeremy Beasley pitched three perfect innings in relief. Beasley has a WHIP under one and 25 strikeouts in 21.2 innings. He could be another option later in the season.

The bottom of the tenth was interesting. Kyle Johnston got the first two outs but walked the next two hitters to load the bases. He then went to a 3-1 count on Darick Hall, who at that time had all of Lehigh's three hits in the game. Hall popped up the 3-1 pitch to end the game.

Two home runs for New Hampshire. Spencer Horwitz hit his third and Orelvis Martinez his tenth. Horwitz, Orelvis and Tanner Morris had two hits each. Every hitter for NH reached base either by a hit or a walk.

Paxton Schultz had his best start of the season, five innings, two runs and eight K's.

Ricky Tiedemann started for Dunedin, went five innings and struck out ten. He did allow two runs for the second game in a row. On Friday two runs scored out of four baserunners, three hits, one walk. In his previous start two runs scored on three hits, two walks and a hit batter. That makes four runs scored out of ten baserunners. One run was on a home run but it bears watching to see if Tiedemann pitches differently with runners on base. Tiedemann now has 49 K's in 30 innings.

Cameron Eden, on rehab, had three hits including his first home run. The hot Gabriel Martinez also added two hits
