Buffalo split a doubleheader with good pitching, holding Syracuse to two runs total over two games. New Hampshire scored just one run over their two games, their hitting was generally absent and the pitching poor. Vancouver's bullpen and some errors cost them their game while Dunedin also were let down by a pitcher and lost.

Syracuse 1 Buffalo 0 - game one

Syracuse 1 Buffalo 4 - game two

New Hampshire 1 Erie 5 - game one

New Hampshire 0 Erie 7 - game two

Tri-City 7 Vancouver 6 - 12 innings

Dunedin 6 Daytona 10

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

One hit was the difference in the first Buffalo game. In extra innings Syracuse got the single to score the runner on second. Buffalo could not replicate the scoring in the bottom of the inning. It was a tough game for Buffalo as both Gabriel Moreno and Cullen Large left with injuries. Moreno was hit by a pitch. Nathan Lukes and Samad Taylor had two hits each. Jordan Groshans was 1-3 but made his fifth error. Nick Allgeyer started and threw 5.2 shutout innings with six K's.

The Bisons had six hits in game two, same as in game one, but this time they scored four runs. Cavan Biggio was hitless but walked twice, scored twice and drove in one. Groshans was 2-2 with a walk, driving in two runs and is hitting .333. Jeremy Beasley started and went three innings but it was a bullpen game with four pitchers used. Trent Thornton went 1.2 innings and Adrian Hernandez pitched a perfect seventh with two K's.

The Fisher Cats recorded just three hits in game one, and with Andrew Bash conceding five in the first inning, it wasn't much of a game for Blue Jay fans. Tanner Morris and Spencer Horwitz doubled and Gilbert Ponce pitched well in relief. Those are the highlights.

The Fisher Cats repeated their three hits in game two, including another double by Tanner Morris. Starter Brady Lail did not pitch well.

Vosver Zulueta made his Vancouver debut and generally pitched well. He did allow two runs but both were unearned thanks to some shoddy defense. In both the first and third innings the first hitter reached base due to an error. Both scored when a subsequent hitter singled. Zulu went five innings and struck out eighth. His fastball hit 100mph several times. He was followed by Alex Nolan who surrendered four runs in his one inning.

This game went to extra innings. In both the tenth and eleventh Tri-City could not advance the runner off second. In the twelfth they bunted the runner to third and scored him on a sac fly. Meanwhile Vancouver had the runner on third with no outs in the eleventh and twelfth but in neither inning could they bring him home. They alos had the bases loaded in the ninth to no effect.

Steward Berroa and Trevor Schwecke each had three hits. Berroa and Harry Ray homered.

Dunedin were locked in a nice 3-3 tie with Daytona until the bottom of the eighth. With Jonatan Bernal on the mound Daytona went walk, home run, out, single, walk, out, double, single, home run. That was six runs allowed by Bernal, one by Seonni Martinez out of the bullpen. Kendry Rojas started and went five innings and pitched well, three runs allowed but just one earned.

Adrian Pinto went 3-3 with a walk and a sacrifice. His average is up to .265 after a slow start. Almost every other hitter had one hit, Pinto had the only extra base hit, a double.

Three Stars

Third Star - Vosver Zulueta

Second Star - Nick Algeyer

First Star - Adrian Pinto
