It was rehab day on the farm. Anthony Kay and Eric Pardinho pitched in the FCL while Taylor Saucedo pitched in Buffalo. The Bisons, Dunedin and the FCL Jays all won. New Hampshire and Vancouver lost. Vancouver were beaten so badly, they used two hitters on the mound. Rainer Nunez drove in five runs for Dunedin, including a grand slam.

Buffalo 3 Lehigh Valley 2

Somerset 4 New Hampshire 3

Eugene 13 Vancouver 0

Dunedin 8 Jupiter 1

FCL Blue Jays 4 FCL Tigers 3

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

It was a bullpen game for the Bisons. Derek Holland started and threw two shutout innings. Taylor Saucedo followed, on a rehab, and added a clean inning. Gabriel Ponce followed making his AAA debut. He was charged with two unearned runs thanks to a two out error by Tanner Morris.

Nathan Lukes had his usual two hits and scored a run, Jordan Groshans did the same. Cullen Large had two hits and drove in a run. Shaun Anderson pitched the last three innings and, after a rough period, seems to have found his form again.

Trent Palmer started for New Hampshire. He went five innings, allowed two runs and struck out seven. The newly promoted Braden Scott gave up two runs and took the loss.

Sebastian Espino homered, his eighth. Luis De Los Santos drove in the first run with a triple. Spencer Horwitz lost his on base streak but drove in the third run with a sac fly.

Jimmy Robbins made his first start in high A after his promotion. He laboured through three innings, walking five while throwing 72 pitches. He actually faced one hitter in the fourth, walking him. Of his 72 pitches, 38 were strikes and 34 were balls. He allowed just one run. Hunter Gregory followed and he was hit around to the tune of five runs. After Sean Wymer gave up another two runs, Davis Schneider came into pitch. That didn't go well as he conceded five runs on six hits. Hugo Cardona got the ninth and he just allowed one hit in his inning.

Addison Barger had his usual two hits for the C's, one a double, on a forgettable night.

Dunedin scored eight runs on eight hits. Jupiter scored one run on eight hits. Rainer Nunez had three hits, a single, double and home run. The home run was a grand slam, part of his five RBI's. Estivan Machado was 2-4.

Geison Urbaez got the start and went four shutout innings. One of the Nathanael Perez's relieved him and threw three innings.

Anthony Kay and Eric Pardinho pitched an inning each. Irv Carter followed and threw 3.2 innings with six K's. He did give up a home run. JC Masson was 2-3 with two walks, a triple and two runs scored. He is hitting .600 and is dominating the FCL through the first ten games. Manuel Beltre walked three times.
