A walk off win for New Hampshire with Orelvis getting three hits. Vancouver had a nice win, while Dunedin split a doubleheader with Dahian Santos getting the win in game two. Buffalo and the FCL Jays lost.

There are reports that Yosver Zulueta has been promoted to New Hampshire. Thus was always a year to challenge Zulueta as he has to be protected or left exposed at the end of the season.

St. Paul 7 Buffalo 4

Altoona 5 New Hampshire 6

Vancouver 8 Hillsboro 4

Bradenton 2 Dunedin 1 - game one

Bradenton 0 Dunedin 4 - game two

FCL Blue Jays 4 FCL Tigers 7

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

The Bisons faced old friend Aaron Sanchez. Nine hits for the Bisons with eight of the hitters getting at least one. Nate Lukes and Samad Taylor homered. Chavez Young was 1-3 and scored two runs including one on a pop up to the second baseman in short right field. Young's speed gives him a lot of value in centre field and on the bases. Unfortunately he hasn't been able to get going with the bat, hitting just .215.

Thomas Hatch was fine the first time through the order but was not fine the second. Two singles and a walk loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth inning. Two runs scored. Two solo home runs followed in the sixth. Four runs allowed for Hatch in 5.2 innings. It wasn't a good night for Bisons pitching, St Paul picked up 16 hits.

New Hampshire scored one run in the eighth and two in the ninth for the walk off win. The run in the eighth came on a double steal with Trevor Schwecke stealing home. In the ninth Rafael Lantigua and Orelvis Martinez had hits. A passed ball moved the runners and a wild pitch tied the game. Zac Cook supplied the single for the walk off. Both Lantigua and Orelvis had three hits. Those hits were especially welcome for Orelvis who has been scuffling. Luis De Los Santos homered.

Altoona hit a three run home run off Luis Quinones in the second inning. It wasn't a good start for Quinones, six hits and three walks in just 3.2 innings.

The C's had 12 hits with nine of them going for extra bases, but no home runs. Four hitters had a two hit game. Steward Berroa doubled and tripled. Leo Jimenez had two doubles and scored three runs. Miguel Hiraldo singled and tripled and drove in two. Anthony Morales singled and doubled and drove in two. He also threw out a base stealer.

Jimmy Robbins meanwhile had a good start, four innings, three strikeouts, no walks. His one blemish was allowing a two run home run in the second inning.

David Schneider has been hitting well recently and that earned him a promotion to New Hampshire. Addison Barger left the game in the middle of the second inning for an unexplained reason. (edit...our own #2JBrumfield suggests that it was because Barger had fouled a ball off his foot)

Anthony Kay started for Dunedin in game one and threw two shutout innings. Geison Urbaez followed with four shutout innings with just two hits allowed. He came back out for his fifth inning, the seventh and last inning. A lead off walk, a double and two singles turned him from the winning pitcher into the losing one. Just five hits for the Jays, their only run came from back to back doubles by Rainer Nunez and Adriel Sotolongo.

Dahian Santos started game two. He was again dominant, five shutout innings, two hits, seven K's. It was an excellent start after his last two starts weren't as good as usual. He is probably in line for a promotion before the end of the season but he might stay in Dunedin for a little longer.

Glenn Santiago hit a two run home run and Sotolongo added two more hits to lead the offense.

Irv Carter started the FCL game and it didn't go well. Eleven hits allowed in 3.1 innings including two home runs. Whatever it was he was working on wasn't working. Luis Garcia hit a three run home run for the Jays.
