Avert your gaze if you don't want the bad news. Buffalo were blown out. New Hampshire too. Dunedin were shutout. Vancouver gave Hillsboro a game but they too finally succumbed.

Columbus 14 Buffalo 3

New Hampshire 1 Somerset 8

Hillsboro 4 Vancouver 3

Dunedin 0 Bradenton 4

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

The Bisons used eight pitchers, six of them were scored upon. The two exceptions were Julian Merryweather, who did put two runners on but escaped, and Adrian Hernandez.

Just three hits for Buffalo. One was a two run home run by Zach Collins. Another was a single by Otto Lopez to extend his hit streak to 19.

Somerset scored eight runs in the fourth inning, a stinker of an inning by NH. Jimmy Robbins loaded the bases but with two outs he hit the batter forcing in a run. Braden Scott was called on to get out of the inning and he did get a ball hit back to him. But he threw it away letting two runs score. Scott then hit the next two hitters making it 4-0 and then gave up a grand slam. Somerset scored eight runs with three hits. They had just one other hit in the rest of the game.

Meanwhile the Fisher Cat hitters could only get six hits. Davis Schneider had two.

Vancouver were 3-0 down after five innings and again two of the runs were unearned. Nathanael Perez (Lopes) started but he only gave up one of the runs in 3.1 innings.

The C's had one hit through five innings but four straight singles and a sac fly in the fifth led to three runs and a tied game. Unfortunately Mason Fluharty allowed Hillsboro to retake the lead in the eighth. Dasan Brown and Damiano Palmegiani had two hits each.

For Dunedin, the high flying offense was held to just four hits. Devonte Brown had two of them.

The starter was Rafael Sanchez, a 23 year old Cuban, making his first A ball start. He had previously pitched for the DSL and FCL Jays. He went five innings and gave up a two run home run while striking out four.
