The A level seasons ended on Sunday and both Blue Jay affiliates are into the playoffs. Dunedin made it by having their game on Sunday rained out. Buffalo were also rained out. New Hampshire won while Vancouver lost.

Gwinnett at Buffalo - rained out

New Hampshire 5 Reading 0

Eugene 9 Vancouver 3

Palm Beach at Dunedin - rained out

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

Jimmy Robbins was outstanding, nine strikeouts in five shutout innings. He has a 2.04 ERA in four starts in AA. He is definitely moving up the prospect lists. Not bad for a 20th round pick.

New Hampshire has been a disappointing team this season. Now that it is late in the season New Hampshire called up a couple of 19 year olds from the FCL to fill out the roster for a week or two. Those two youngsters, Robert Robertis and Angel Del Rosario, each homered, each drove in two runs and each added another hit.

Eugene have been the best team in the Northwest League this season and they beat up Vancouver on Sunday. It will be a tough playoff for the C's. Nathanael Perez took 40 pitches to get through the first inning and it was downhill from there. Jommer Hernandez, a catcher, pitched the ninth.

The C's had three hits. One was a Rainer Nunez double that drove in two runs. Gabriel Martinez added a home run.

Three Stars

Third Star - Angel Del Rosario

Second Star - Robert Robertis

First Star - Jimmy Robbins
