Games in Buffalo are scrubbed until further notice but there was a game in Vancouver Wednesday.

The C's took on the UBC Thunderbirds in a preseason game at Nat Bailey Stadium which now has padded walls in the outfield. Trenton Wallace put up four shutout innings and was around 78-93 miles per hour. He gave up just two singles. Hunter Gregory allowed the lone run over two frames and was around 92-93. Connor Cooke worked a 1-2-3 seventh inning and lit up the radar gun at 99.

Josh Kasevich drilled a double off the center field wall in the second inning but was forced out on a 6-5 fielder's choice from Alan Roden. Cade Doughty doubled in Roden and Jommer Hernandez singed in Doughty. The fourth inning saw Doughty double to left just out of the reach of the diving UBC outfielder to plate home two runs but the inning came to an abrupt end. The UBC hurler had walked the bases loaded so I'm not sure if it was a pitch count issue. Rainer Nuņez stung a ball to left field to score a Riley Tirotta walk and a stolen base in the fifth inning.

Both teams decided to play the full seven innings despite the C's holding a 5-1 lead at the time and the home side tacked on three more runs to make the final 8-1. Of note, Doughty had another base hit for a three-hit night.
