Buffalo were the only winners on Friday, thanks to some good relief pitching. It has been a slow start to the season for most prospects. It is still a little early to draw conclusions, we need some more time to give us a bigger sample size.

Iowa 2 Buffalo 3

New Hampshire 2 Somerset 3

Vancouver 1 Everett 4

Dunedin 1 Palm Beach 2 - 11 innings

Three Stars

Third Star - Kekai Rios

Second Star - Kevin Miranda

First Star - Ryan Jennings

Boxes

NOTES

Good relief pitching helped Buffalo win. Thomas Hatch has been pitching decently out of the pen, he went two shutout innings. Junior Fernandez also went two. He has a 2.35 ERA. Nate Pearson closed it out, but he did walk one and gave up a single.

Jimmy Robbins had control issues on Friday. He went 5.2 innings but needed 83 pitches. 41 strikes and 42 balls is not a good mix. He walked three and gave up 2 runs. He struck out five.

Kekai Rios, a minor league rule 5 selection, went 3-4.

In four games in Palm Beach this week the Dunedin Jays have 14 hits, or 3.5 per game. As a team they are last in the FSL with a .181 team batting average.

Ryan Jennings and Kevin Miranda again combined on an excellent start. Jennings went four shutout innings and Miranda five. Jennings relies mainly on his sinker and curveball. He got five whiffs on the curve. His fastball averaged 94 mph. Miranda used three pitches, the slider was his big weapon, he got seven whiffs with it. His fastball averaged 89.5 mph.
