Dunedin scored 13 runs today, the FCL Jays 17. There were lots of hitters with lots of hits. There were not a lot of hits elsewhere in the system. There were plenty of wins, every team other than Buffalo won.

Syracuse 6 Buffalo 0 - 5 innings

Akron 0 New Hampshire 2 - 8 innings

Hillsboro 2 Vancouver 3

Lakeland 2 Dunedin 13

FCL Blue Jays 19 FCL Tigers 3

Three Stars

Third Star - Tucker Toman

Second Star - Sammy Hernandez

First Star - Christian Feliz

Luis Quinones was promoted to Buffalo and started. He has been mostly relieving in NH and so just went three innings. Syracuse scored two runs off him in the second inning thanks to three wild pitches. A Luke Voit home run made it three runs in three innings.

It hasn't been the best start of the season for Jimmy Robbins but he delivered his best start on Friday. Five scoreless innings, seven strikeouts, two hits and four walks.

NH scored two runs with three hits. They had two big ones in the second inning. After a Steward Berroa walk, Leo Jimenez doubled in a run. Riley Tirotta singled and Orelvis Martinez had a sac fly.

Dahian Santos struck out seven in four innings. Santos has a lot of break on his slider. The only issue is does it break too soon, will major league hitters pick it up?

Dasan Brown his his third home run of the season. He added a single and was the only hitter with two hits. The game was tied in the bottom of the ninth when a single and an error gave Vancouver runners at first and third with one out. Hillboro opted to intentionally walk Alex De Jesus to load the bases and go for the double play. That was risky as the next batter was Garrett Spain who had a walk off home run against Hillsboro earlier this week. This time spain worked a walk off walk to win the game.

Dunedin scored 13 runs with 13 hits and just one hit went for extra bases. Eight walks helped. Tucker Toman was 3-6 with three RBI. New Blue Jay, Jeffrey Wehler was 2-3 with two walks and two RBI. Wehler was signed out of independent ball and at 24 is too old for low A.

Kendry Rojas went five innings, one run allowed on two hits.

In the FCL, catcher Sammy Hernandez, who was just moved down from Dunedin, went 5-6 with two doubles. First baseman Christian Feliz went deep twice and was 4-6. He is the best hitter on the FCL team. He has been described as a large man although he is listed at 6'4" and 190 pounds. He is a good hitter but first basemen have to really hit to get on prospect lists. The winning pitcher was Fernando Perez, 19 years old. He had a 1.26 WHIP in the DSL last season with a 4.53 ERA. In just two starts his ERA is 1.00 in the FCL.
