Addison Barger made his MLB debut Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals, playing left field and batting eighth for Toronto. On to the scores and game breakdowns below.

Vancouver Canadians
The Spokane Indians and the Vancouver Canadians started their six-game set in Vancouver On Tuesday with the Indians taking the first game 4-0.
Wednesday the Spokane Chiefs got three runs in the third and singles in the fifth and eighth. The final score was 5-4 Spokane but the Canadians made it interesting in the bottom of the ninth when a Jackson Hornung home run made it 5-4 with one out.
Braiden Ward got the third inning going with a single then Cole Carigg’s single moved Ward to third. The Canadians Kevin Miranda pitching error, the first of two in this inning, allowed Ward to score, all with two outs. The Chief kept this inning going with more smart steals and base running as well as some smart singles to the outfield.
Vancouver had taken the lead in their half of the first when Ryan McCarty was hit by a pitch and then stole second. Spokane’s Blake Adams blew the pickoff attempt on second base scoring McCarty.
The Canadians (7-10) are back at it tomorrow at Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium starting at 7:05 p.m. local time for game three.
Buffalo Bisons
The Iowa Cubs used five runs in their half of the third inning to make the game 6-0 and that put the game out of reach for the Bisons.
Damiano Palmegiani was able to get on base in the fourth with a single and Will Robertsons’ home run that followed was all the Bisons could generate for offence for the rest of the contest. By that point, it was 8-0 for Iowa even with the two-run shot.
With Addison Barger’s promotion to the show in Toronto with Kevin Kiermaier out, some of the spotlight will undoubtedly fall on Spencer Horowitz who continues to shine with a .352 batting average that sees him in the top 10 in the International League.
The Bisons and Cubs are at it again tomorrow at 4:35 p.m. with a doubleheader. Paolo Espino starts game one for Buffalo, with fellow righty Paxton Shultz scheduled to throw in game two.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats fell 7-6 to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies on Wednesday despite leading this game into the seventh inning 2-1.
The Fisher Cats gave up six runs in the seventh with the death blow being the Kevin Parada homer that allowed Binghamton’s Matt Rudick and Alex Ramírez to score.
New Hampshire chipped away at that lead with single runs in the seventh and ninth and two in the eighth but couldn’t overcome the Rumble Ponies advantage.
The Fisher Cats and Rumble Ponies continue their six-game set tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. Devereaux Harrison on the mound (0-2, 12.19 ERA) against Binghamton’s Tyler Stuart (0-0, 4.66 ERA)
Dunedin Blue Jays
The Dunedin Blue Jays were blanked 3-0 on Wednesday by one of the best-sounding names I have read for a team in the Jupiter Hammerheads. With a little research, I found out that the Jupiter Hammerheads are in the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins
Jupiter used single runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings and a dominant start by Emmitt Olson who earned his first career win with six shutout innings and a career-high 10 strikeouts.
The series with the Hammerheads continues tomorrow at 6:30 PM EDT in Jupiter.
