Vancouver Canadians

The Vancouver Canadians scored three runs in their half of the eighth but the Hillsboro Hops prevailed with a 5-3 win on Wednesday.

The Canadians are now winless in their last five games and were held scoreless for seven innings thanks to the Hops Spencer Giestingís 13 strikeouts and seven strong innings on the mound.

Vancouver did score in the eighth thanks to a Dasan Brown triple which scored Estiven Machado and Jommer Hernandez. Brown then came home when a Jace Bohrofen ground out combined with Ryan McCarty out at second.

Jackson Hornungís ground out ended any threat of Vancouver tying it though as the Hops turned the double play getting him and Jace Bohrofen who had reached base on Brownís earlier scoring play.

Geison Urbaez started this game for the Canadians and balked to allow a Hops run to score in the second after Hillsboro had loaded the bases. He got two subsequent outs but the bigger concern however was that Urbaez left the game with an injury.

With the two losses to start the series, Vancouver looks to get back in the win column and will send Ryan Jennings to the mound today to face the Hops Avery Short. Game time is 6:35pm.

Buffalo Bisons

Rain was the order of the day in Buffalo as The Buffalo Bisons and St. Paul Saints had their game suspended Wednesday.

The Saints were ahead 3-0 in the top of the third and the game will resume at that point today. The second game of the doubleheader at Sahlen Field will be a seven-inning contest after a half-hour break.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

Rice and everything nice was what the Somerset Patriots served the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in an 11-2 shellacking at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire on Wednesday.

Ben Rice, the New York Yankees No. 12 Prospect, went 2-2 with two home runs, 4 RBIís, two walks, and two stolen bases to lead a Somerset attack along with SS Ben Cowles. Cowles was 2-5 with two RBIís, two runs, and a double.

The Fisher Cats managed only two runs in the bottom of the sixth thanks to

Dunedin Blue Jays

The Dunedin Blue Jays had won six straight contests until the Bradenton Marauders, the Single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, limited them to just four hits in a 7-1 loss on Wednesday.

Jauron Watts-Brown, the Toronto Blue Jays 18th ranked Prospect in their system, was on the mound again on Wednesday allowing one unearned run in the third but then fired three straight Kís to end that frame.

He was chased in the fifth inning thanks to an RBI double to make it 2-0 for the Marauders. He did escape the majority of the damage done by Bradenton though when they scored four runs in the eight on two hits and five walks to make it 7-0.

Bradentonís LECOM Park is the site for today's game with the contest set to start at 6:30 between the two teams.
