The Law of Competitive Balance...

Surely they won't bring back Buddy Bell...

Ryan Shealy is extremely unlikely to be a star, but I do think he's at least not going to be the next Mike Stenhouse. Which means that he'll be better than Mientkiewicz...

If Gordon moves in at 3b next year, Teahen probably moves to RF and Brown to LF. With DeJesus in CF, it won't be a terrible outfield, and it beats wasting time with Reggie Sanders.

On the other hand... the pitching is terrifying to contemplate. They need all the help they can get. They might want to shake the glove tree and find some middle infielders who can move around and catch the ball. Grudzielanek isn't bad for an old guy... but he is an old guy. And Berroa is awful.

74 wins in 2007.  The climb to contending status begins.
