I don't think Clemens, Carlton and Cobb would ALLOW their team to lose, so that's where my vote went, even with one of the weaker bullpens, relatively speaking, in the alphabet league.

Had to go with the C's. B has a great lineup with Bench, Banks and Bonds leading the way, but Blyleven/Blue doesn't compare with Clemens/Carlton at the top of the rotation.

It was a tough decision to come to - b and c have different qualities. I voted for B, mainly on the strength of the lineup, but in retrospect, the C's might have been a better choice. Oh well, I'll stick with my guns on this one.

The C's, frankly, are loaded with hitters. The B's lineup looks good - the C's are better. The B's have one of the 10 or 12 best hitters of all time - Bonds. The C's have two - Cobb and Charleston - and it goes right down the line. Campanella is a better hitter than Bench, Collins better than Biggio. Clemente a better hitter than Burkett, Crawford much better than Bobby Bonds. Cronin is the equal of Banks with the stick and a better defender. Don Baylor?

The infield corners, and catcher defense, is where the B's have the advantage, but it's not nearly enough. Both benches are great and the C's have an advantage at the front of the rotation. C's in a walk!

I agree that it's the C's, but I think that it'll be reasonably close. Maybe 6-7 games over a season. What's notable about the B's and C's is the catching. You've got Bench, Berra, Campy, Cochrane and Carter. That's 5 out of probably the top 7 or 8 catchers ever (Pudge, Piazza, maybe Hartnett).

If any other team loses a catcher to the DL, there will be a significant drop-off. If the C's do, it's ho-hum-disable Campy and activate Cochrane.
