Going out on the Lind here, but I'm guessing Ricciardi is entertaining offers. Just a hunch and a bit of a slip up in answering one of his questions directly tonight on WWJP.

Can you elaborate on the WWJP comment, Lefty?

A Bonds signing would move Stairs to left and block Lind. Just sayin'.

Barry the Blue Jay Bonds.

chills.
Although I can really picture the caricature of Bonds as a buffed up, big head blue jay. A comic book about a larger than life bird that doesn't fit in.

Then I think, what if the Jays marketing department actually tried to make a cartoon of Bonds' image and sell that to kids.

Impossible. Barry could only be seen in the media in the context of children, young people, with the banner that "Barry delivers message that drugs are bad".

I imagine the Jays are working to see if there is some way they can help salvage Barry's public image enough that he can work/play, and if Barry and his people would accept their mandate.

Or they have concluded that such a tact is not plausible, and they are happy to string this story along because it's good for fan interest (sales).

The question was something like, when will Adam Lind be up with the club.

The answer was roughly, we'll have someone like Lind up in the coming few days.

I thought it was a weird choice of words. I'm not speculating just saying perhaps Ricciardi is looking at something.

Barring a trade, which would surprise me, given that Lind's off year last year with the Jays is sure to depress his value, I think he shows up when Rolen is activated for the Kansas City series.  Rolen makes Inglett unneccessary, and Diaz goes down to make room for Lind, who's needed to keep 4 outfielders on the team- not to mention being the starting left fielder.  Stewart is reduced to making occasional starts for Stairs or Lind against lefties.

I'd rather keep Inglett up and send Stewart (or Scutaro) down, but that is clearly not going to happen.

Much better I agree... but we might want to break up the 3 lefties and switch hitter at the bottom of the order a bit.  Bat Stairs higher perhaps?
