Voted 'like' but only because it adds talent for a draft pick and cash. I think the Jays will be frustrated in years 4/5 at least but worst case has Martin as a good backup catcher/3B/1B which has value (not $17 mil a year, but value).
How can you assess this move with no context? If they are going to have Navarro, Thole and Martin on the team, then I think they will be playing with a seriously short bench. If there are moves to follow, then I can't decide whether I like the trade until I know what those moves are going to be.
I like Martin for cash and a draft pick. If they keep Navarro and Thole I won't like that they keep Navarro and Thole but I'll still like Martin for cash and a draft pick.

With the influx of talented young pitchers coming in, Stroman & Hutchison in 2014, Sanchez, Norris and Graveman on the verge, we need a superior catcher.
Maybe Martin even helps the pen somehow, as well.
I think that AA will be able to trade some expensive players. Reyes, Buehrle & Dickey are not duds, someone will want them and will give up value for them.
