Interesting thought ... how many of these nine guys get into the HOF? I'd think four are locks (Clemens, Glavine, Maddux, Johnson), three are eliminated on the first ballot (Moyer, Rogers, Wakefield) and two are borderline -- Smoltz probably deserves to get in, and may or may not; Schilling less so than Smoltz, but probably will.

While the others have the superior amount of experience, Schilling is absolute money in the post season.

4 times he has pitched in the post season, and has 2 rings.  Pretty decent track record.

I'd go with Smoltz over Clemens (barely) due to the fact that Roger really can't go much more than 6 innings these days, while Smoltz still gives the opportunity to go the distance.

If I need one out with the bases loaded, though, I take the Rocket.

Smoltz has been wonderful in October.

But Curt Schilling is one of the greatest post-season pitchers who ever lived. Him and Mathewson and Koufax and Gibson. People like that.

Well, my vote went to the most recent oldster to strut his stuff in the playoffs, Kenny Rogers. Last best counts big in my books, especially in the over 40 crowd.
