I should have selected Straker, who appears to have the edge on fewest innings in MLB.

Tony Saunders is a good pick, but at least he has the notoriety of being the guy who got the ball rolling in Tampa Bay. Being the first player selected by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the expansion draft is still an accomplishment.

I picked Straker, only because his name was the least familiar to me. Not that notoriety is a precursor to accomplishment...

I picked Straker. I remember every painful detail of September and October 1987. OK, that's an exaggeration. I do know that if the 87 Twins and the 87 Blue Jays played 99 games, our homies would have won, and Straker would have gone 6-12 with an ERA of just under 6.

I remember Tony Saunders from watching the replay of him breaking his arm after releasing a pitch. It just about snapped in half - one of the more gruesome injuries I've ever witnessed.

It's not possible to change your vote in this, is there? Because I could have sworn I saw vote totals go down for some guys from the time I voted.

Interesting -- Straker's most similar pitcher at BBRef is none other than David Bush.

It is not possible to change a vote here, no, though the admin who posted the poll can change a vote if you ask really nice. I don't think that has happened here, though I didn't post this one.

The most fascinating part of this poll's response is that every single candidate has multiple votes!

Ack. Thanks for pointing out that out, Mick. Bush's comparables are actually all awful. I still really like him though.
