Great question. I chose the Sox. Old (1960s) habits die hard.

They have fantastic pain control methods these days.

Careful, Mike. Between the Anti-Terrorism Act, the new government's myopic disdain for the harm-reduction movement, and its apparent jones for some sort of new pre-trial reverse onus to-hell-with-the-presumption-of-innocence-and-Oakes-too dealy, a statement like the one you made could land you in prison for quite awhile.

Wow, you too have your eyes on the same issues Leigh.

You must be one of Da Box lawyers eh?

Well, I did bring in a transistor radio into my Grade 3 classroom to listen to the 67 series. I don't remember whether I spent some time in the corner for that offence, but I do remember that our teacher had what was then called a nervous breakdown early in the year.

This will sound strange, but the 3 teams I root for are the Jays, Red Sox, and Yanks.

Sometimes I go out with a Red Sox hat and a Yanks t-shirt. But make no mistake, the Jays are my number 1 team.

You're right... That does sound strange.

I chose the Sox. Their payroll is huge but it is comprable to a couple of other teams'. The Yankees' is insane. For example, the red Sox had 2 players in 2005 with salaries over 10 million. The Yankees had 10. It is strange, but I might hate the Devil Rays (soon to be the Rays?) even more than both. At least I can respect the Yankees' and Red Sox fans and traditions...and stadiums. I actually find myself rooting for the Yankees to make the playoffs so I can have someone to root against when they get there. Much better than the Twins of White Sox or any of the other teams that make me go "feh".

How 'bout those Indians of Tigers?

I'm not kidding... I really would prefer a root canal. I've had a root canal.

And they're *both* still better than the Braves.
