I thought about including Romero, who does belong in the discussion, but decided against it because of the homer vote.

I voted Lester, but really it is a dartboard selection.  They are all a step down from Randy Johnson, but still great in their own way.  Price, I suppose, could take another step forward at some point and be the dominant pitcher of his time.

I'd say you made the right call. If Romero maintains his pace this year then he'll belong in the discussion, but career-to-date he's not quite there with the other 3.

8 votes in it looks like I'm not the only one with an anti-Yankee bias. I voted Lester but I definitely think CC should be getting some votes. It feels like he should be much older than 30, and it's amazing that he's thrown 180 or more innings every year since he was 20.

Jonny, as the Box's designated token Yankee fan, let me drop your jaw to the floor and tell you, I voted fro Price.  That's not being anti-CC, I just think the kid is better.

Give me the horse. I'll take the "guarantee" CC provides for 230+ IP over the perhaps slightly better performance a Lester/Price could give you in 200 IP. There's an impact a durable workhorse has on the team's bullpen that simply can't be measured, and I think a lot of Halladay & Sabathia's value is tied up in that.

Depends whether you're rebuilding around a young team (Price - age 25), likely to contend for several years to come (Lester - age 27), or looking for a front-end starter to put your veteran team over the top (Sabathia - age 30).

For example, I think Price would be the best fit for the retooling Jays, or maybe Lester. But any of those three lefties would look great in any team's rotation.

I'd like to see which Jays pitcher Bauxites would rather have for the next three years, Ricky Romero or Brandon Morrow?
