Chacin - kept the Jays in it the entire time until Silva fell apart,
showed poise in the first inning when Hillenbrand botched the throw
home.
Our defense did a fine job today, and rebounded from yesterda, despite the Hillenbrand brain cramp. Glaus played very well at third. They get my vote
I'd probably vote Phillips, but Hinske definitely deserves mention in this thread. Excellent at-bat and made the rally possible.
Are the results of these "game MVP" votes going to be tracked throughout the year? It would be interesting to see the results for team MVP at the end. Maybe a 5-3-1 point method for each vote? Of course, that means having the vote after every game, which restricts the availability of other, more interesting questions. I guess they are open to anyone, so I could do it myself...
MVP of the Minnesota series:
Halladay, Glaus, Chacin, 5 points each
Overbay is the only one to make the list twice (2 points)
Notable oversights: Ryan (0 hits, 3 K's, 2 saves in 2 IP . Has the makings of a fantasy league MVP so far)
A better way to tally the results would probably be cumulative % of vote, though, so Adams and Overbay wouldn't get much credit for Glaus's MVP game.
Done that way, Glaus wins MVP with a cumulative 85.45% of the vote, which seems fair considering 4 for 12, with 2 doubles and a HR.
Chacin second, at 60%, Halladay third at 38%.
A rainy Friday bored at home leads to aimless numerical wandering...The advantage of this method over the year-end look back is that raw numbers don't count for much unless people think they were accumulated in a way important to the team. So in the incredibly unlikely event that Overbay hits .455 with 50 HRs but never seems to really stand out during a game as important (isn't this how detractors like describe A-Rod?), no MVP for him.

I voted Ali G over Gus because Phillips might not even be on the team by the end of next week. As such, this would provide us with fond memories when we look back as the regular season ends with the Jays finishing in first by 1 game over the Spanks thanks to Phillips' Game #3 heroics. One can dream....
