Even though I voted for it, "Woohoo" is not exactly how I would have said it.

I honestly don't know how I feel about the trade and really all that has gone on this winter.
I think somewhere along the way, being a Jays fan and an Oilers fan, that I had come to believe that there was something wrong with big market teams who loaded up on free agents and spent like Paris Hilton. I hate the Yankees, Red Sox, Leafs, Rangers. I think I always hoped the Jays would move their way to the top based on shrewd moves on underrated players, building a minor league system etc. I hoped they would move their way to the top like some unknown garage band that makes it big their way. Now that the Jays are "contenders" and making the obvious moves (as opposed to the so called smart moves), I am not sure I like it. I get a hint of this feeling from some of the old guard on this site.

For me, it's not about spending money. Raul Mondesi cost a ton of money, and hit homers, but did little to help the team win. When you have to play a far inferior defensive player at third base in order to acquire him, and you lose a superior defensive player at second base in the trade, you have to look carefully at the offensive benefits. B.J. Ryan will help this team win games; I doubt that Troy Glaus will.
