Another tremendous victory for the Communist Party of China!
Doc is probably the safest bet out there to be an excellent starter over the next 5 years.

Castro couldn't have done the poll better! AND, this is one time he'd have been RIGHT ON! Go Jays!
This poll reminds me of the army asking for volunteers, "You, you and you, NOW move it!"

If this were truly the communist party of china, ron would mysteriously dissappear and never be heard of again, but alas, we all have dreams that will never come true...
Hmm... where's the no option?
It's right next to the "All three" option when one is asked which of the Red Sox, Yankees or Blue Jays is their favourite team. :)

Close vote, but I think the yes side is likely to pull through.
In Communist Russia, the poll votes you!

The 80's called, they want their joke back.
I could pull out a joke from the 90's to date myself, but I won't.

I believe you just did. ---> search
I think the point is that it's an old, obvious joke that through an oversight no one had made yet.

We'll put you down for great.

Why would they care? You're their all-time bestseller!
In all seriousness, I think that extending Doc's contract before he has even returned from his leg injury is a questionable move. Fluke or no fluke, past injuries can often lead to future ones and if Doc's leg ends up giving him problems over the next couple years this could be a disaster.
Don't get me wrong, I love Roy Halladay and am ecstatic about him being a Jay for the forseeable future, but I don't think it's fair to say this move is one that is undebatable.
Every move is debateable!

Well I had--you guys all know how it goes...
FWIW, it's a bad idea. He's a great pitcher and a fine leader. The odds are that he will be significantly better than Burnett in 2010, but you simply don't want to spend that kind of long-term money on anything but the best, youngest, healthiest pitcher with the highest K rate (adjusted for park and league). Putting out an equivalent amount of money on Roger Clemens after 1990 or 1991 might have been justifiable, but that's about it.
Fortunately 2010 is not upon us. I hope we've heard the last of contract discussions for awhile.
