Brandon Morrow will return to the Jays' rotation soon. For his first turn, he *should* replace:

Brett Cecil 17 (8.25%)
Jesse Litsch 16 (7.77%)
Jo-Jo Reyes 166 (80.58%)
Nobody - six-man rotation! 3 (1.46%)
Nobody - all five current starters are better than Morrow 2 (0.97%)
Other 2 (0.97%)

I voted nobody-all 5 current starters are better than Morrow. IMO he has to show more in his rehab. High A ball hitters are doing OK against him.

RR is doing well.
Drabek is also doing quite well for a rookie, so he is not hurting the team as he learns the Majors, NYY will be a good test. Since there are weaknesses in the rotation, I am OK with any bumps he has.
Cecil & Litsch IMO have to be given more time to get back on track. If Morrow was ready then I would send either of them down first to smooth out their wrinkles in the minors.
Reyes in the pen, stays our property, a year in the Majors hopefully convinces him that he can succeed in the Majors & there is less pressure on him.

I don't think they have a choice but to bring Morrow up for his next start.  He doesn't have any options left and his rehab assignment is limited by the collective agreement.  Is this correct?

That's a good point ayjackson.

There could be some merit to giving Reyes another start or two before deciding what to do with him, and meanwhile going with a 6 man rotation. They've played probably half their games already with a 3 man bench so it wouldn't be too much of a change and could help to keep the young arms' innings totals down.

I voted Jo-Jo, but if this was two years from now, Litsch and Reyes -- four man rotation!

Litsch has pitched better, but has options. No-one I'd send down from the current bullpen. Developmental year. Upside of getting Reyes on track is so high in terms of performance and trade value that it's worth sending the better pitcher down for a while. And I think Reyes is close.
