Medwick's original nickname was Ducky Wucky. He was not a likely candidate for Manchester's Manliest Man contest with that one.

I voted for Stretch, as it defined Willie McCovey.

Gotta be Joe McGinnity. What people don't understand, I think, is that the term "Iron Man" was INVENTED to describe Joe McGinnity. In other words, it was McGinnity who gave the term its modern connotation. McG was called the "Iron Man" because he worked in a foundry. The term "Iron Man" became associated with great stamina, because of McGinnity's greatness.

The nickname that became part of the language. THAT'S a nickname.
