Paul Waner's nickname in the poll has one of your better typos- one appropriate for new parents.

Some of these have been pretty tough to choose.

I went with Cy this time, if only because its been used in dugouts and grandstands since our Grandparents were young to describe just about anything. Great or poor pitching performance. From little league to the majors to primadona's.

Its part of our collective baseball culture.

Plus I haven't ever heard about a Rube award, but maybe there should be one.

Who could be nominated for the Rube Award?

If a Rube award were given out in memory of Rube Waddell, it would definitely run afoul of modern day norms. Waddell liked to play with rubber snakes and watch fire engines. It was a less gentle time, and Waddell did not have a long life.

While Big Poison and Little Poison fairly accurately describes the impact of the Waners on opposing pitchers, the nickmanes are actually "Big Person" and "Little Person" bellowed with a New York accent...

I think "Rube" could be the best common nickname in baseball. Mick, have you ever done an All-Rube Team? It'd have a few stars, with Waddell, Marquard, and Foster.
