Webb doesn't deserve to be up there.

And he probably won't get (m)any votes. But at 31-37, you have to at least admit, it's not exactly a career record that screams "Opening Day starter." I mean -- Elarton is 50-47, Davis is 51-52, Lopez is 51-43, Harang is 31-32, Jennings is 49-43 ...

Of course, it's not all about W-L. But Webb DOES have the worst career record of the entire list of choices.

You know Arizona could always trot out "former 21 game winner" to open the season.

"Webb doesn't deserve to be up there."

Neither does Davis. He's only starting because Sheets is hurt and he's did strike out 208 batters last year.

To be honest, I couldn't remember off the top of my head what team Scott Elarton actually pitches for (or has ever pitched for).

Honestly, I don't understand the decided edge in support for Elarton. I think he will be one of those "He made an Opening Day start?" guys, but as I write this, he has more support (73 votes) than the 2-3-4 guys (Harang-Davis-Jennings at 70 total) combined. Weird.

I think that Webb and Harang are legitimate 'number one' starters - each being among the 30 best starting pitchers in the Majors.
