I voted Cardinals.  I am in no way suggesting that if the Cardinals and Yankees played 25 games, the Cardinals would win 13 or more of them.

It's interesting to me that the first 20 votes are split among the Yankees and the four NL teams listed. The ALCS is a foregone conclusion, huh?

I'm hoping the Sox sweep the World Series so I get some free furniture.  Otherwise, I don't really care, and it's mostly random at this point, so I'll go Angels.

I feel like we see 6 or more of these teams in the playoffs every single year.

I voted with my head instead of my heart and voted for the Yankees.  I am definitely in the minority, but I think the Twins or Tigers could prove troublesome for the Yanks and I wouldn't be drop dead shocked if the Yanks got swept.

Both AL Central teams have desimated pitching staffs at this point and the fact that Detroit can't hit and has a questionable at best back end of the bullpen makes me look stupid, but the Tigers beat up on Sabathia quite a bit when he was in Cleveland.  The Twins are hotter than anyone right now.....But *sigh* the evil empire will prevail.

I'm rooting for the Dodgers though as I really like Clayton Kershaw.

I voted for the Halos.  I think the Yankees get a gift for the divisional round series but should they lose one of the first two, they could be in trouble.  If the Angels can get past the BoSox this time around, I think they'll go to the World Series.

Here's hoping a certain former Blue Jay can choke on the mound for the Bronx Bombers.

My hope is that Boston and LA (both of 'em) both fall slightly short this year, and that another true ace pitcher is seen as the solution that would put them over the top in October 2010...

My pre-season pick was the Yankees over the Phillies.

Despite the Yankees having a very solid year and team, I am now going with the Angels over the Phillies.

I like the Cards. With Carpenter and Wainwright as a 1-2 combo and the mightly Pujols, they should make it out of the NL where the other teams all have big question marks on the mound.

Minnesota over Colorado.

C.B. Bucknor over Phil Cuzzi.

I stand corrected.

I'm a bit late to the party, and St. Louis has been eliminated, but I voted Yankees. My view of the playoff teams (in order of likely WS win):

- NYY: flawed pitching but simply too much firepower
- PHI: good all-around team, but Hamels has been hit a little bit, and Lidge has been hit a lot. It would be nice if Rollins hit like 2007 (875 OPS) instead of 2009 (719 OPS)
- BOS: despite being down 2-0 (but ahead 5-4 in game three), still a good team with a strong bullpen. I think Ortiz, Lowell and Gonzalez prevent them from beating the Yankees / Angels
- LAA: I like them a lot, and I think Scioscia is a good manager, but they lack the offensive depth of New York or Philly
- LAD: very good team (including the Manny factor) but is their starting pitching deep and/or experienced enough?
- COL: Helton, Tulo, Hawpe, C-Gon, but the pitching probably falls a bit short--and so does the hitting
- MIN: fabulous late-season surge, but a WS win would have been tough even with the now-injured Morneau

Oh, and my sentimental pick? The Angels. I just like the way they play baseball. They are a balanced team with an impressive mix of veteran and young talent.
