My vote went to "Angels in the Outfield". If I had seen "The Rookie" (is that the one with the 16 year old kid with magical powers?), I probably would've voted for it.
"Angels in the Outfield" is like Free Willy in that you hope that the whale falls on the kid. With all that sappy Disney Sports theme music and the lack of controversy or real challenge, this 'feel good' movie is a joke, and I say that in the lightest light :)
Wasn't "Angels in the Infield" (yes, a sequal) flimed at the Rogers Centre, then SkyDome?

I voted for The Scout. This movie is incredibly frustrating for any semi-knowledgeable baseball fan to watch. I'm surprised I managed to sit through the whole thing.
One of the sequels to Angels in the Outfield was a TV movie filmed at SkyDome, called Angels in the Infield. The fact that SkyDome was probably the one ballpark in major league baseball that resembled Edison Field the least created some rather amusing goofs. There was one scene where a few of the actors were sitting in the stands and looking up at the sky, but you could clearly tell by the lighting that the roof was closed at the time.
My mistake, sweat, though I believe that is one of the movies I've seen a number of "worst" lists. I changed it to what it was supposed to read, "Mr. 3000" ...

Mr. 3000 is a remake of Mr. Baseball -- well, not really, but they have all the same cliches and follow the same by-the-numbers sports movie plot. And they even have the same final play in the big game.

She replied by saying "I am constitutionally incapable of enjoying any movie involving any of the following people: Geena Davis, Lori Petty, Jon Lovitz, Tom Hanks, Penny Marshall, Garry Marshall, Madonna or Rosie O'Donnell."
So we figured that that about covered it.

Oh, and I can't vote in this poll; the only one I've seen is 'Little Big League' which is actually pretty okay. Not great, but okay.
I'm a big fan of Hardball, I don't think it should be on this list but I'm sure there's people out there who like the other movies too....except Ed.
I never saw the movie Hardball, but I do remember the (thankfully) short-lived Hardball TV sitcom on Fox in the mid-90's. It was basically a cheap knock-off of Major League. The show surrounded a major league club called the Pioneers, but they wore slightly-disguised California Angels uniforms so they could use stock footage from real major league games.
I only saw a couple of episodes (nine were apparently produced), but I remember that the pilot involved several players being upset about the team's mascot being fired. With insipid storylines like that, you have to wonder how the show lasted as long as it did.
For anyone looking to completely waste five minutes of their life, I found the episode guide for Hardball. The role of the the manager was played by Dann Florek, who had been axed from the original Law & Order a year earlier.
My vote would go for a movie that's not even on the list.

Wasnt there one of those movies with a dog or a chimp in them playing baseball? Was Ed the one with Joey Tribiani and the monkey? These are the questions I need answered dammit? Didnt they make an 'Air Bud: Designated Woofer' or something like that?

I don't know if it's fair for older people to vote on a movie like Angels in the Outfield. For while it admittedly looks bad now, I LOVED it when I was a kid and that has to count for something.
For Love of the Game is a great movie, I wonder if Kevin Costner is any good at Baseball in real life?
