Notes
Joey Loperfido homered for the Herd's lone run. Davis Schneider singled and walked and Steward Berroa singled and stole a base. Lazaro Estrada gave up three runs in four innings. Connor Overton coughed up six runs in two frames.
Devereaux Harrison did not have it as he was dinged for two homers and five runs on seven hits and five walks over 4-2/3 innings, striking out only two. Ryan Jennings stranded both Harrison runners and fanned three over 2-1/3 scoreless frames. Cade Doughty had a three-hit night with two doubles and an RBI and Charles McAdoo picked up a pair of two-base hits. Jace Bohrofen singled twice and walked.
The Canadians had their longest game of the season at 3:47 but at least they won. All nine batters reached base at least once with seven recording a hit. Victor Arias had a team-best four hits with an RBI and scored three times from the leadoff spot. Arias got away with some daring baserunning by going to third after the Hops third baseman and shortstop bumped into each other on a ground ball to the left side of the infield. Cutter Coffey had three hits and four RBI and is starting to percolate by going 7-for-15 over his last three games. Sean Keys had the lone extra-base hit and went 2-for-3 with a walk and knocked home three. Jackson Hornung had an interesting game. He had two infield singles, a sacrifice fly, a nice leaping catch near the left field fence and stole home as part of a double steal with Nick Goodwin. He was also able to deftly avoid a tag at third base after advancing on a comebacker. Arjun Nimmala reached twice with a walk before getting drilled in the back. Jackson Wentworth gave up just two hits but walked five, leading to two runs allowed over 3-2/3 innings in which he struck out three. Pat Gallagher was the winner with 1-1/3 shutout innings, stranding two runners while getting away with three walks. Vancouver issued 15 walks in total, and Hillsboro handed out 11. Julio Ortiz was credited with a hold but had the worst pitching line with four runs surrendered over one inning. JJ Sánchez got the final out of the game and was the only hurler not to walk anyone.
Tucker Toman had a two-hit night, including an RBI double. Edward Duran singled home a run and walked. Brock Tibbits had an infield single in his lone at-bat. He was replaced by Peyton Powell at first base an inning later due to injury. Gilberto Batista was gouged for four runs over five innings, including a home run among five hits and two walks. Batista struck out three batters as did Bennett Flynn and Johan Simon giving Dunedin a total of nine (that number again!). Simon pitched three innings but gave up a run to take the loss.
