Joey Loperfido and Orelvis Martinez had two hits apiece with Martinez and Jonatan Clase getting a double. Easton Lucas yielded a run on two hits but struck out three over three innings. Paxton Schultz got the ‘L’, giving up a homer among two runs over three innings. Eric Pardinho worked around a hit and a walk for a scoreless frame.
Adrian Pinto homered to start the game. He would be replaced by Nick Goodwin in the eighth inning. That’s the second straight game Pinto has not played a full nine innings. Jackson Hornung tripled but did not score and Aaron Parker doubled but did not score. Victor Arias had a base hit but Arjun Nimmala was 0-for-4. Juaron Watts-Brown was beaten like a drum, giving up five runs on six hits and two walks while whiffing seven in 3-2/3 innings. He also gave up a long ball. Kai Peterson allowed an inherited runner to score but struck out one over 1-1/3 innings. Julio Ortiz gave up four runs in just two-thirds of an inning. Johnathan Todd and JJ Sánchez finished up the final 2-1/3 innings with Todd punching out three batters.
Manuel Beltre, Sam Shaw, Kendry Chirinos and Bryce Arnold all homered for Dunedin. Chirinos also tripled, Arnold had a single and a stolen base and Shaw scored four times. Chirinos and Shaw also took one for the team. Tucker Toman had a double, a single and three RBI and Devonte Brown also had two notches in the hit column. Eminem Flores pitched 2-1/3 perfect frames with a strikeout and stranded his inherited runner. Javen Coleman fanned six over two innings of one-run ball. Christian Mracna took the loss.
Dariel Ramon prevented a seven-inning no-hitter with a single and Juan Rosas drew a walk. Rehabbing Ryan Burr struck out two as the opener in a perfect frame and rehabbing Adam Macko gave up two runs in 3-1/3 innings on three hits and two walks to take the loss but he struck out six.
