NOTES
Buffalo won game one with just three hits. Grant Rogers had a tough start to the season, he had a 14 plus ERA after two starts. He improved that a lot on Wednesday with four shutout innings, three hits and three K's. He was pulled after 67 pitches. Brendon Little came on after him, he walked one but followed that with a double play.
Buffalo went one better in game two, a win with just two hits. A pair of two run home runs did the job, the homers came from Rafael Lantigua and Yohendrick Pinango. Lantigua's home run came off Mets prospect Jonah Tong who otherwise shut down the Bisons. Yariel Rodriguez started game two and struck out six of his seven outs.
Buffalo may have had trouble hitting but not the Fisher Cats. They racked up 14 hits, all but one of them a single. Jace Bohrofen hit a home run, the only non single. Bohrofen had a disappointing 2025, he had two hits in this game as he tries to regain his prospect status. Eddie Micheletti is the lead off hitter, he had three hits and is leading the team in hitting and OPS.
New Hampshire have had a number of recent disappointing seasons. I don't knew if that was the impetus but NH are starting three free agent hitters in their lineup, trying to get a winning season. So far, so good, they are 3-1.
Austin Cates was promoted to Vancouver last season and pitched well in five starts. Well, 2026 did not start as well, he was charged with three runs over four innings with six hits allowed and four walks.
Vancouver had just four hits, Arjun Nimmala had the only extra base hit, a double.
