NOTES
Buffalo used a six run seventh inning to turn a 3-2 deficit into an 8-3 lead. The big hit in that seventh inning was a grand slam home run by Daz Cameron. Charles McAdoo added an insurance home run in the eighth, his fourth in as many days. McAdoo, Cameron and William Simoneit had two hits each, Sean Keys had three. In total the Bisons had 15 hits, the two home runs were the only extra base hits.
CJ Van Eyk started, he went 4.1 innings, four walks, three K's, three hits, one run.
The Fisher Cats were down early and often. Jackson Wentworth was charged with six runs in four innings. The Cats trailed 9-3 in the fifth.
Victor Arias homered for the second day in a row and added a single. Carter Cunningham also homered and walked twice. At the end of their first week in AA Alexis Hernandez singled and is hitting .333. Tucker Toman doubled and he is hitting .286. Eric Snow singled and doubled and he is hitting .263.
Everett has the reputation as the best hitters park in the Northwest League. Ty Southisene doesn't care about that after he hit his first pro home run in the first inning. Before everyone says "look how the Jays changed his swing already", remember it is Everett. Another newbie, Dasan Hill took to the mound and he lived up to his reputation, walking a pair in the first inning and giving up two runs. He then pitched a 1-2-3 second and he was done for the day. He threw 26 strikes and 20 balls which is what people said about him, he needs to throw more strikes. The Jays have several pitchers like that.
Hayden Wilkerson took over from Hill and he went five innings. Everett only scored one run off him while he struck out five. Meanwhile Edward Duran doubled in two runs in the fourth inning and Peyton Williams hit another home run in the fifth. The C's scored five runs in the eighth with just one hit. Three walks, an error and a hit batter scored three then the only hit was a double by Jake Casey. Austin Smith had three hits, Williams and Gable Mitchell had two each.
Dunedin scored a run in the seventh and held on to win 2-1. In that inning Aldo Gaxiola and Jake Bennett both doubled. Gaxiolqa also drove in the first run with a sac fly after Juan Sanchez had doubled. Bennett and Gaxiola had two hits each.
Denis Samudio gave up one run over six innings for the win. He struck out five. New guys Isaac Williams and Dax Dathe didn't allow a hit or a walk in the eighth and ninth respectively.
With Jojo Parker's promotion to Vancouver who benefits and who loses. The benefits go to Ryan Cooney who should get the reps as shortstop in Dunedin now. Juan Sanchez could also see some time at short as he has played ten games there this season. On Sunday it was Cooney at short. Meanwhile in Vancouver Raimundo De Los Santos and Gable Mitchell have been playing at short. Both will see their time there decrease.
