We've selected the six finalists in the Batter's Box Splashy Headline Contest. The winner of the tickets is up to you -- make sure you vote in our new poll!

Read on to see our finalists.

There were plenty of honourable mentions. But I liked the following six headlines the best:

The Jays come back against Mitch Williams in Game Four of the 1993 World Series to win 15-14.
Choice 1: ME-OTCH!

VBF comes through with a succinct summary of the sentiments of Phillies fans.

Dave Winfield kills a seagull at the Ex with a thrown ball.
Choice 2: BYE BYE BIRDIE

To me, this is the headline one would most expect to see at the Post: laugh-out-loud funny, brief, and absolutely heartless. Nice work, Jimmy Larsoni.

Jim Traber breaks up Dave Stieb's no-hitter with two outs in the ninth, in Stieb's first start since having a no-hitter broken up by Julio Franco with two outs in the ninth.
Choice 3: JIM, RATS!

Mick's headline is not only a clever pun, but an apt description of the pain of seeing a banjo hitter interfere with history.

Dock Ellis claims to be under the influence of LSD while pitching a no-hitter.
Choice 4: A ONE HIT NO-HITTER

Choice 5: NONE REACH BASE OFF ACIDIC ACE

Two clever takes on the same event. Gerry's is funny and punchy; Rob's is more subtle, but works on several levels.

Randall Simon clubs a sausage racer in Milwaukee.
Choice 6: WHERE'S THE BEEF?

It took me a second to get the double meaning here. Nicely done, CeeBee.

The choice is yours, Bauxites. The poll will stay open until 11:00 am tomorrow!
