It sounds awful, but the Lugnuts behind late homers from DP combo Peralta and Klosterman rallied from a 4 run deficit to an extra-inning victory. The farm affiliates were a perfect 3-0.

Syracuse 7 Columbus 5

Chad Mottola's 3 run homer in the 7th inning broke a 4-4 tie, as the Sky Chiefs defeated the Clippers. Josue Matos started and gave up two 2-run homers in 4.1 innings, but then Matt Duff and Jesse Carlson combined for 3.2 perfect innings of relief to pave the way for the Chiefs comeback in the 6th and 7th innings. Matt Whiteside took advantage of the easy save opportunity by allowing a run without allowing the tying run to reach base. Danny Solano started at second base, and went 2-4 with a homer and a sacrifice fly while John DePastino, John-Ford Griffin and Bryant Nelson had 2 hits each in a 14 hit attack.

Daytona 1 Dunedin 4

Casey Janssen is on a mission, and he may be even closer to achieving it than anyone had thought after another strong showing last night. He gave up a solitary run in 6 innings with 9 strikeouts. The run scored off Janssen came in the second inning after the Cubs led off the inning with a single, double combo. Not to be outdone, the relief corps of Justin James and Davis Romero combined for 3 strong shutout innings.

Adam Lind paced the offense, reaching base three times with a pair of doubles and a walk. Carlo Cota scored the go ahead run in the 6th with a solo shot to left field.

Lansing 5 Quad Cities 4

It took a while for the Lugnuts to pull out the win, but a solo shot from Ryan Klosterman in the 12th did the trick. Starter Juan Perez struggled again giving up 4 runs in 4.1 innings. I wish I could give the first star to the Lugnuts bullpen as they did a fantastic job in relief of Perez. Jordy Templet, Jeremy Harper and Danny Hill teamed up to shut out the opposition for 7.2 innings. Juan Peralta also homered while Yuber Rodriguez walked four times.
